Welcome to finnemann.org. My name is Torin, I'm what you may call Cand.Scient., Msc.Cs., computer scientist or plain and outright Pro Geek. I finished my masters thesis in Computer Science at the University of Aarhus in 2011, after which I have been working as developer for a booking and ticketing company called Webbook. My main interest in Computer Science is in the area of web development, mainly technical aspects, but also to some extend usability.

My masters thesis looked into how to do robust location specifiers for the web. Location specifiers are useful for numerous applications, for example augmenting the web with annotations and other types of useful hypermedia tricks not natively supported by WWW. The dynamic nature of the web, however, is a challenge to overcome for such annotations to be useful over time, and the primary focus of the thesis was how to re-localize anchors if the anchors or their context had changed.

The tasks I do at Webbook are very versatile including API integration between various backend systems, backend development and to a lesser extend frontend development.

I am living with my wife and three kids in a small sleeper town some 20 km west of Aarhus trying to get enough time for all kids, house, wife and hobbies.

This website is a presentation of me and my projects, but it is also meant to be used as a testing ground for the work I do in relation to my hobby projects.
